  • Gene isolation revealed that RI encodes a BELL1-type homeodomain transcRIption factor, similar to Arabidopsis PENNYWISE/ BELLRINGER/REPLUMLESS, and is expressed in the specific regions within the inflorescence and branch meRIstems where their descendant meRIstems would soon initiate.
