- The expression of ZmMYB115 can directly regulate the expression of Du1 and Wx and may be positively correlated to the amylose content in maize endosperm.
- The overexpression of ZmMYB115 in maize endosperm significantly suppressed Du1 promoter activity, but enhanced Wx promoter activity.
- Combined with the transcriptional regulation of SSGs by ZmMYB138 and ZmMYB115, Zma-miR159k-3p can indirectly regulate starch biosynthesis in maize endosperm by regulating the expression of ZmMYBs.
- Specifically, ZmMYB138 and ZmMYB115 affected the transcriptional activities of Du1/Wx and Ae1/Bt2 genes at their respective promoter regions.
