  • It suggested that function of ZmFUT1 on SLB resistance may not lie on the transcriptional level.
  • We collected the agronomic traits of those ZmFUT1 mutants and found that flowering time, plant architecture and yield-related traits were not significantly different between wild-type lines and mutants.
  • Identification of ZmFUT1 and MYBR92 responsible for SLB resistance.
  • ZmFUT1 and MYBR92 as the causal genes responsible for the major QTLs for resistance to C. heterostrophus.
  • ZmFUT1 is the gene underlying the resistant effect at this QTL.
