Functional Descriptions
- Our data indicated that VvWRKY26 enhances the expression of selected target genes induced by VvMYB5a/b.
- Expression of VvWRKY26 in ph3 flowers restores the pH of crude petal limb extracts, the colour of the corolla and the wild-type expression levels for PhPH1 and PhPH5 in petals.
- Our data indicated that VvMYB5a, VvMYB5b, and VvWRKY26 can drive the vacuolar hyper-acidification pathway when expressed in petunia as well as in transgenic grape plants.
- Transgenic grapevine plants with altered expression of VvMYB5a, VvMYB5b, and VvWRKY26 show phenotypic aberrations which strongly support a role for the MBWW complex in controlling different aspects of grape plant development and the accumulation of flavonoids.
