  • SlNAM3, the predicted target of Sl-miR164a/b-5p, improved cold tolerance as indicated by a higher maximum quantum efficiency of photosystem II (Fv/Fm), lower relative electrolyte leakage, and less wilting in SlNAM3-overexpression plants compared to wild-type.
  • SlNAM3 plays a positive regulatory role in cold tolerance and is one of the target genes of Sl-miR164a/b-5p.
  • SlNAM3 positively regulates cold tolerance in tomato.
  • We also show that SlMIR164A modulates fruit ripening and quality through specific target genes, SlNAM2 and SlNAM3, which control key regulators of chloroplast function and fruit ripening processes.
