- We found a gene in tomato that encodes a mitogen-activated protein kinase (SlMAPK11) and contributes to seed germination, as identified by its different expression levels in seeds showing either low or high optimum germination temperatures.
- MAPK11 regulates seed germination and ABA signaling in tomato by phosphorylating SnRKs.
- Our results demonstrate that ABA signaling in tomato is affected by a mechanism that depends on MAPK11 phosphorylating SnRKs, and this ultimately influences seed germination.
