- Encodes HTA11, a histone H2A protein. Loss of all H2A.Z (triple mutant with HTA8 and HTA9) results in a reduction in DNA methylation of transposons but not that of genes. Loss of H2A.Z causes misregulation of many genes involved in the response to developmental and environmental cues, and that these genes tend to have high levels of gene-body H2A.Z.
- Encodes a protein with sucrose synthase activity (SUS4).
- Encodes a close homolog of the Cauliflower OR (Orange) protein. The function of OR is to induce the differentiation of proplastids or other noncolored plastids into chromoplasts for carotenoid accumulation. Both proteins contain a Cysteine-rich zinc finger domain that is highly specific to DnaJ-like molecular chaperons.
