Functional Annotation
- Encodes a homolog of trithorax, a histone-lysine N-methyltransferase. Paralog of ATX1. Unlike ATX1 which is involved in trimethylating of histone H3-mysine 4, ATX2 is involved in dimethylating of histone H3-lysine 4. ATX1 and ATX2 influence the expression of largely nonoverlapping gene sets. The expression pattern of ATX2 is also different from that of ATX1.;Encodes a trithorax group chromatin‐remodelling factor, an homologue of Arabidopsis Trithorax protein1 (ATX1)
