  • The resistant line contains a transposon in susceptibility gene CsMLO8, causing alternative splicing and loss of function of the gene.
  • Results showed that the loss of function of CsMLO8 mediated resistance to powdery mildew was related to cell wall apposition formation and cell death.
  • The CsMLO8 revertant (m6326) showed a higher rate of spore penetration, longer hypha and more conidia.
