Germplasm Phenotype:
- tpd1-1 — Male sterile mutant; anthers lack tapetal cells and have an increased number of microsporocytes. No tetrads were formed, and mature anthers in mutant flowers contained no pollen. The middle layer was thicker than in the wild type and remained abnormal; at the final stage of anther development became highly vacuolated.
