Germplasm Phenotype:
- mag2-1 — Mutant seeds accumulated the precursors of 12S globulin and 2S albumin, and increased level of ER-localized chaperones. The size of protein storage vacuoles in the mutant seed cells is smaller. Mutant seed cells also have novel subcellular structures with a high electron-dense core.
- mag2-1 mip3-1 — Shorter root length of 7-day-old seedlings, plants grow poorly, small rosette leaves with short petioles, shorter plant height. Accumulation of seed storage protein precursors. Smaller seed, lower thousand-grain weight and lower protein content, severe ER stress, decreased germination ratio with increased storage time, sensitive to ABA and salt stress, ABA signaling pathway affected.
