Gene Details:

FvMPK6 phosphorylates FvJAZ12 at the amino acid residues S179 and T183 adjacent to the PY residues, thereby attenuating its nuclear accumulation and relieving its repression for FvMYC2, which acts to control the expression of lipoxygenase 3 (FvLOX3), an important gene involved in JA biosynthesis and a diverse array of cellular metabolisms.
Over-expression of FvMYC2 and FvLOX3 dramatically promoted the expression of a series of key genes implicated in flavor and defense-associated metabolisms.
Demonstrate that FvMPK6 functions to regulate the phosphorylation of FvJAZ12, thereby ultimately modulating the expression of FvLOX3, an important gene implicated in the regulation of JA biosynthesis and many other biological processes, such as secondary metabolism-associated flavor production and plant defense responses.
Our results uncover a previously unknown aspect of JAZ signal transduction and elucidate a complete signaling cascade that links multiple primary signal inputs with fruit trait development, that is, JA and multiple environmental stimuli-FvMPK6-FvJAZ12-FvMYC2-FvLOX3 (lipoxygenase 3)-flavor metabolism, antipathogen.
