• Cloned the CmLOX08 promoter of melon (Cucumis melo) and identified the main promoter regions regulating transcription in response to signalling molecules and abiotic stresses.
• We thus speculate that the LTR motif may play a role in regulating the expression of CmLOX08 in response to cold stress.
• The data generated in this study will enrich the existing inducible promoter resources and provide useful information for further study of the mechanisms whereby CmLOX08 is regulated when oriental melon is subjected to different abiotic stresses.
