Functional Descriptions:

• To investigate the role of BraA.REF6 and BraA.ELF6 on vegetative development, we compared the mutant lines to wild-type B. rapa plants and observed that the overall plant architecture of all braA.ref6 and BraA.ELF6 mutant lines were not severely affected.
• We considered both braA.ref6-1 and braA.ref6-2 strong alleles regarding flowering time. In the case of BraA.ELF6 alleles, BraA.ELF6-1 showed a pronounced acceleration of flowering time whereas BraA.ELF6-2 manifested a narrow phenotype suggesting that it is a weak allele.
• BraA.ELF6 represses flowering by modulating FLC expression in B. rapa.
• These data are consistent with BraA.REF6 and BraA.ELF6 modulating H3K27me3 levels genome-wide and participating in the regulation of several biological processes in B. rapa.
